May's Bakery was first established in 1914 by Scottish Baker Alex & Ethel May in Pleasant Point. May's Bakery then shifted to High Street in Timaru in the late 1920's followed by a final move to its current location on Timaru's main street. A third generation member of the family is still today, making the orginal recipe of the Famous May's Mince Pies! The pies are made to a traditional scottish recipe of a scalded dough, which gives it it's unique flavour and look, that is known all around New Zealand. |
